We are thrilled to welcome Mrs Redrup into Year 1 and the children have settled well into the new routine.
We are excited about our new topic "Oh, I do like to be beside the Seaside". We have been reading the story of the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. The children have been creating story boards and re-writing the story.
In maths we have been learning how to measure length and height. We are also learning about capacity and volume, using water and different size and shape containers.
Our phonics lessons are focussed on preparing for the Phonics Screening Check in June; more details to follow.
We continue to investigate plants growing in our science lessons and are also learning about the changes we can expect to see as we move from Spring into Summer!
