At Mill Lane, we believe that home learning plays an important part in a child’s education and we know that children derive great pleasure and benefit when working on tasks at home.
All children are expected to complete homework tasks out of school and these are listed in more detail in our Homework Policy. In addition to set tasks, children should also regularly practice the following skills:
- Reading to an adult (This could be a school book, own book or a Bug Club online book.)
- Learning target letters, sounds or spellings (Children are provided with these regularly)
- Practicing the multiplication tables (Children from Years 1 to 6 all have counting or tables targets)
In addition to the above websites, all children have access (using login details) to the following sites:
Bug Club (Online reading, phonics and grammar activities tailored to your child's ability and needs)
Education City (As the name implies - a wealth of educational resources and games. Great for x tables!)
Purple Mash (A wide range of curriculum resources, with an excellent ICT skills section)
