Welcome to Mill Lane Community Primary
'Growing, Thriving, Flying'
Welcome to Mill Lane Community Primary School and Windmill Community Nursery. The school is set in extensive grounds at the foot of the Chiltern Hills; it was built in 1974 to accommodate an increasing number of children as the village of Chinnor expanded.
We have created a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which children can develop as unique individuals and where they develop emotional, social and academic skills needed to become independent and responsible members of the community.
We are a one-form entry school where staff know every child well ensuring children feel secure in the knowledge that he or she is a valued and significant member of our community. The school is set in extensive grounds with a beautiful environmental area, wide open spaces, pond and children's garden area.
We are fortunate to have a nursery class, which enables us to provide continuity of education for children from the age of 3, during their most formative years.
Ofsted Report 2025 'Pupils enjoy attending their vibrant, welcoming and happy school. They are proud to be part of the school’s caring and nurturing community.'
'The school has high aspirations for all pupils to achieve well. This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who are disadvantaged. Pupils achieve well across the curriculum and leave school well prepared for the next stage of their education.'
'Pupils revel in looking after the school animals, which include goats, guinea pigs and fish. Through working with the different animals, pupils learn about resilience, responsibility and teamwork.'
