Our topic this half term is: 'To infinity and beyond!' and is all about explorers! The children have been learning about Neil Armstrong, Christopher Columbus and Amelia Earhart and finding out similarities and differences between their explorations .The children will also be learning how to and creating a fact file in English. They have been exploring different medias to create firework pictures and to draw moons and planets for our topic board Finally, we have been reading lots of books about all kinds of exploring.
In maths, we have been learning about subtraction, and enjoying playing maths games dice games and particularly skittles to help us, as well as using part whole models, number lines, tens frames and basically anything we can count..
In Science we are exploring the seasons of Autumn and Winter by looking at what is happening outdoors, examining what clothes we wear, what animals do in these seasons and we are observing and measuring the weather (rainfall, temperature, wind) each day over a week,
