Class 5 Home Learning

Hi Class 5!

Welcome back year 5, I hope you all had a well rested break. You have all done a brilliant job and the work which I have seen has been completed to such a high standard. You have all learnt so many new skills and developed your independence and resilience too. Please make sure you send over any last bits of work from the term so I can look over these.

Below is the 'wellness menu' which you can choose to use over half term. The focus is on having a break from screens over half term so all the activities can be completed without technology!

Class 5 Teams Calls are now twice a week. One on a Monday (to set up for the week and go through tasks and expectations) and the other on a Thursday (to ask any questions and check in) for the same duration of half an hour.

Each week, you will have a new set of activities to complete which are attached in a column below. These activities will follow our Class 5 Timetable which you can find directly below. Government guidelines state that Primary aged children should complete 3 hours of home learning per day in a range of subjects across the curriculum. Please continue to email any work that is completed to the class email so I can keep a register of who has completed their learning.

Mill Lane’s Month of Movement:

It’s really important you keep up your physical exercise. This is not only important for your physical wellbeing but your mental health too. So don’t forget to take regular breaks from your home learning and log your physical activity minutes over the next 4 weeks. There are prizes to be won!

Speak to you soon,

Miss Hutchinson
World Book Day Week!

Sponsored Ready Steady Read and Virtual Book Fair:
To encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and school, we will be running a school sponsored read and a Virtual Book Fair between Monday 1st and Sunday 7th March. This is being organised in conjunction with our local Usborne Representative, Lisa Colley, and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will donate up to 60% of the total raised in EXTRA FREE BOOKS to the school. So if we raise £600, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books! There will also be a competition running – the child who reads for the most amount of minutes will win a book of their choice!

Here is the link for the performance of Treasure Island for Class 5&6.

The password will be sent out on a ParentMail later this week, please do not share the link or password with anyone outside the school community.

Enjoy!
