How much is it for my child to have a school lunch?
One day = £2.00
Whole term (average 6 weeks) = £1.80 per day
Dinner money must be paid on a Thursday for the number of meals required for that week/term. Please place money in an envelope with the pupil’s name, class and what days they are paying for.
Please make cheques payable to Mill Lane Community Primary School. It is possible to pay for the entire term in advance.
Please follow the link on the home page (the plate of food) for the most recent detailed menu.
What do I do if my child is ill?
1. If children are unwell, please contact the school as early as possible in the morning that they are unwell.
2. If pupils suffer from sickness overnight, they must not attend school the next day.
3. If pupils are ill during school hours, we will contact you on your first emergency number or subsequent numbers should you be unavailable. Contact numbers for emergencies should be an address relatively close to school.
What do I do if I need to take my child out of school?
If it is a circumstance other than for medical purposes, you will need to request a form from the school office.
If for a medical purpose, you will need to inform the child’s class teacher (preferably by letter), and you will need to sign the pupil out at the school office.
What if my child needs medication in school?
Children are not allowed to bring medication to school (this includes cough / sore throat sweets, eye drops for hayfever) and our staff are not allowed to administer them unless your child has asthma, then arrangements are to be made with the Headteacher. If unsure about your child’s medication, please contact the school office.
Where can I find lost property?
All uniform (preferrably all belongings) should be named. If lost and then found, it is returned to the classroom area.
What should I do if I need to drop my child off after class registration?
Children should not be dropped off in either car park. Parents are responsible for seeing children safely into school. Only if picking up or returning children from a medical appointment or sickness are parents / carers allowed to use the staff car park. Please ensure you sign children in and out on the register located in the school office.
